Welcome to the Clubhouse! How did you hear about us?
A friend told me about it.
What instruments are you building or playing?
I've only built a couple of guitars so far. My first was a 30" 3-stringer and it was just so long I built another that was only 25.5. Both simple frettless jobbers.

Resonator/ Tongue Drum

Posted on March 9, 2012 at 12:12am 6 Comments

So I'd really like to be able to lay down a percussive beat while playing so I decided to try a tongue drum built into a git. I've never made a tongue drum before but thought what the Heck. To make the tongue drum work I chose 3/4" mahogany, but that left a problem because the sound board is so thick I wouldn't make an acoustic git worth a crap. I decided to finally employ this aluminum cone I got from Old Lowe a while back. It's a six incher. I went a head full steam and cut the tongues out…

Sanddraggins license plate reso

Posted on January 22, 2011 at 6:00pm 3 Comments

So here's my first license plate resonator. It's an old plate I got from my Father in law when he passed. He had it in his bedroom hanging on the wall. I'm using two one inch dowels. I believe they are maple. And the box is the perfect size for the plate. The idea is to route out a quarter inch for the… Continue

Hi Matt, thought about it... might work. So you need a Flatpup which has connection wires for each of the two coils? For how many strings is it meant for?
At 1:43am on October 25, 2011, Elmar Zeilhofer said…
Matt, thanks for friending! Both coils of the FPs are wired internally, so there are only two connecting wires - hot & ground. I usually got some on stock and ship them on request by priority post. Shipping usually takes one week.
